Mark Dowling wins Nenagh Classic.

Strata3 VeloRevolution would like to congratulate Mark Dowling on his first victory for the Strata 3 VeloRevolution team in the Gas Networks Ireland Visit Nenagh Classic on the 2nd of April. Mark has taken part in the previous four Nenagh Classics and made the podium each time but this year he gave it everything he had and finished in top spot.

The race was exciting from start to finish with a huge number of riders struggling for positions on such small roads. Mark spent the first 40 km down the back struggling to move up and his game plan was a 30km solo drive, he had to take a couple of minutes to get a gel and then when he hit the last climb, with 20km to go he took his chance to lead.

With about 5km to go Lucan’s Conn McDunphy and Aqua Blue Academy’s Matteo Cigala joined a group of twenty riders that were in pursuit of Mark but couldn't but didn't have the legs to catch him. Mark gave it his all and nearly collapsed post-race from exhaustion but was delighted with the win.

This is Mark’s first win for the Strata 3 VeloRevolution Team and we are expecting many more podium finishes for Mark and the rest of the Strata 3 VeloRevolution Team this season with his next big race being Ras Mumhan, where he will be joined by James Davenport, Stephen Murray and possibly Bryan McCrystal.
